This Aarona Indian in Bolivia had just finished skinning out this big cat when I took this photo. The story is tragic. His small sister and her friend were playing near the village that morning when they saw a jaguar. They both screamed and started running toward the village. The jaguar took down his sister, the other girl kept running and came screaming into the village. At this news he ran and got his gun and he and others ran down the trail only to find the cat eating what remained of his sister. He shot the cat as it stared at him. I was there while they mourned the death of the little girl. The jungle can be cruel and unforgiving.
