It seems that camping and retreats have been around for ever. Getting away for a week or weekend with a group of your buddies is growing in popularity -- and price. Years ago camping was a rather simple "do it yourselves" type of experience for a rag-tag group of kids. Now, for the most part, it is a smooth professional package. Come with your kids (and bucks!) and we will provide the camp or retreat. Without a doubt camps, retreats, conferences are all a part of the Youth Worker’s agenda. Whether we are selling a camp, creating or directing a camp or simply motivating and sending our kids to a packaged camping experience, tips from an old camp man should be welcome. As I have time I will enter some helpful and practical ideas that I have used in working with kids in these very important areas of camping, retreats or time away from home. Get a vanload of kids with the right chemistry, add tents, food and a weekend, you have all the makings for a low-budget success! You are invited to look over and use any of these ideas that will work for you.
