If I was the Tempter ...

I'd try to keep him too busy to spend quality time with the Lord. I'd help him to focus on the unpleasant aspects of the culture.

If I was the Destroyer ...

I'd attack his health and the health of his family. I'd cultivate fear through crime and political unrest. I'd prompt him to compare himself with other missionaries. (This is a sure winner ... because either he comes up short and gets discouraged, or he comes out ahead and gets proud! Diabolical, Hah!)

If I was the Enemy ...

I'd do anything and everything to keep him from ... learning to serve God faithfully and contentedly ... and making disciples.

If I was the Father of Lies ...

I'd suggest he could serve God just as effectively in the U.S..

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." (Eph 6:l2,l3)
