My father was a caricaturist, painter, muralist, entertainer, puppeteer and book writer. Great guy, loads of talent but near broke most of the time. I became interested in puppeteering early. While my father was into actual hand puppets my interest was in marionettes (string puppets).

My marionettes were unusual to say the least. They had rubber faces, could open and close their mouths, could smile and even raise their eye brows! So they indeed had changeable expressions. I think that was a first.

I would put on shows in my high school days. Spent some time making T.V commercials and had several shows on San Diego's, TV station channel 8. It was a fun hobby while it lasted then Uncle Sam stepped in and I went of to war.
