COMMENTS about this page: When I have a little extra time I often spend it thinking in a variety of areas. These are my creative times. I don't regularly journal, I simply write my thoughts and observations and number them. If I come across anothers thoughts or sayings that impress me, I write that down preceded by #. Here are some that might make sense.

THOUGHTS AND IDEAS

  1. We must learn to "exploit" the God given hunger of a mans soul. We must take advantage of the opportunity when we sense it.

  2. What the world needs more than change is rebirth! The Church is God's birthing agent.

  3. Anticipation forms the good part of preparation. What I can expect?

  4. #Remember, God sent His son to save mankind, He didn't send a committee!

  5. Why settle for a job when you could have a ministry?

  6. Our trend today is to get maximum results with minimum effort. We call this efficiency. Efficient is not necessarily effective. This is secular thinking and often opposed to the Christian way.

  7. As Christians we are not taking a philosophy into the world, we are taking a Savior into the world. Our main export is the Gospel ... good news! Life changing and culture changing.

  8. Boys? They're a lot like marbles, all the same yet each one different.

  9. How can I talk about "God's leading" ... when I myself am not willing to follow Him? If God is truly leading then I must be following.

  10. TEACH/to know. MOTIVATE/to do. INSPIRE/to become! The greatest of these is to inspire. Here you have launched an empowered visionary into life!

  11. To wear the little bracelet (What would Jesus do?) seems a good thing until we come to the reality that most wearers don't know what Jesus would do. First lets study Jesus Christ in His Gospels ... than wear the bracelet if we dare.

  12. If history proves anything it proves that dominant mothers mess up their sons.

  13. When you speak from the head, you speak to the head. When you speak from the heart, you speak to the heart.

  14. A real communicator knows the difference between speaking TO an audience and speaking AT an audience. A successful communicator speaks TO his audience. Those who want their message to "go over" may not have their message go "into". If my message "goes over " it may be at the expense of penetration.

  15. A weak spiritual "environment" necessitates heavy discipline. Rules, regulations, laws, etc ... yet strong rules and regulations or a heavily controlled environment discourage the very process of spiritual maturing.

  16. Caution! The loudest voice in the group isn't often the voice of the group.

  17. Three things youth are never aware of; health, energy and time. These very three things the aged are crying for.

  18. For "what:" I need knowledge. For "How:" I need skill. For "When:" I need wisdom.

  19. Cruel rule! The weak die!

  20. Heroes? There is no way you are going to get an oak tree by planting a mushroom.

  21. I continue to lead my emotions not follow them! Those who are led by their emotions cannot be objective. Following your emotions result in problems. There is a place for emotions but never as leader!

  22. Our tendency is to blame God for the bad and fail to credit Him for the good. Thanksgiving is a doctrine. Thanksgiving is the primary way to respond to God's goodness.

  23. Don't preach what the minority want to hear, preach what the majority need to know!

  24. To most of us Christians, grace is just a term or at best a concept. Few there are that really know grace and are experiencing it. A Christian that is living out grace is easy to spot. (Grace/The new covenant)

  25. Todays shake 'n bake Pastors and their shake 'n bake sermons. Ugh! Scratching the ears of a formula addicted people.

  26. Aging, the lonely pilgrimage ... the mandatory pilgrimage. Death, the sure end.

  27. #I would rather fail in attempting the worthy than succeed in a worthless endeavor.

  28. Maturity is knowing the difference between The Lord saying "no" and Satan saying "gotcha!"

  29. As a leader I like those who take my suggestions as commands, however I don't like those who take my commands as suggestions.

  30. Our bodies are simply physical vehicles to transport our souls around this physical world.

  31. The real stuff of today is the trinity of time, energy and opportunity.

  32. Marriage today is seems a matter of the formality of two people living together for their mutual advantage. Marriage is seen as a temporary relationship. Meaningful at the time. Meaningful for the time.

  33. Indeed the hole that sinks many a mighty ship is always hidden from view, however lets not suspect every ship afloat of having a hole.

  34. Liberals: Any time you make plans under the assumption of how things should be (idealism) with out giving consideration to how things really are (reality), you are doomed to frustration and often failure.

  35. Liberals: Look both ways! When you plan to make change, first look back to history and then forward to the future. If the lights are green. Go! Caution! Premature change can produce a painful backlash.

  36. Age finds a good friend in wisdom.

  37. Christian "do-gooders": There is a type of "do-gooder" that repels and makes one feel aggressive and intimidated. The legalist. Their lifestyle smells of the sweat of a proud self-effort. Then there is the Godly "do-gooder" who's humble righteousness and true piety issues from their heart like a fragrance. These Godly "do-gooders" tend to make one desire to become a "do-gooder" themselves. (Phl.3:9)

  38. Overwhelming concept: That God thought I was worth the price of his Son.

  39. It isn't a real temptation until it is a real possibility.
